The reason it's been taking me so long to finish Penny #2 is because I was not at all happy with the direction it was going in. I'm proud of the work I put in it, and I still really like a lot of the scenes I had written out, but it just wasn't what I wanted it to be.
So, it's taken me a while, but I think I've finally come up with the new direction I want to send the book in. Right now, it's fleshing out that idea and incorporating what I already have, or tossing the existing work out completely (which, as anyone who's ever created anything they're proud of knows, is not easy).
